1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Studee ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.
2. Description of Service
Studee is an educational platform that provides AI-powered study tools including:
- Note organization and management
- AI-generated flashcards from your notes
- AI-generated quizzes and assessments
- Personalized study plans
- Note summarization and annotation tools
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your password and account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
3.2 Account Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
4. Subscription Plans and Payment
4.1 Subscription Tiers
We offer two subscription tiers:
- Free Plan: Limited features with monthly usage limits
- Pro Plan: Enhanced features with higher usage limits
4.2 Payment Terms
Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. By subscribing, you agree to pay the subscription fee and authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as explicitly stated in our refund policy.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of the billing period.
5. User Content
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload, create, or submit to the Service ("User Content"), including notes, flashcards, quizzes, and study plans.
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store, process, and display your content to provide the Service
- Use your content to generate AI-powered educational materials
- Back up and maintain your content
5.2 Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload, post, or transmit any content that:
- Violates any law or regulation
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Is defamatory, harassing, or harmful
- Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Is spam or unsolicited commercial content
5.3 AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content (flashcards, quizzes, summaries) is created using third-party AI services. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee the correctness or completeness of AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before use.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Share your account credentials with others
- Use the Service to transmit harmful code or malware
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Studee and protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
8.1 Service Availability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
8.2 Educational Content
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any educational content, including AI-generated materials. The Service is a tool to assist your studies, not a substitute for proper learning and understanding.
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studee shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.
All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Studee operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
